Digital Eclipse

Finally, finally posted that auction fic. It had been eating at me, and it's an amazing load off my shoulders to have it up. Hopefully, radiophile will like it enough that it makes up for being oh... about five months late.;;

Now to get the REST of the To Do list in order. With this done, I'm down to six active projects. Of course, other projects crept their way in (gdi brain) and I'm doing some Original Writing that takes some time. (May make a locked post about that later.) At least the official list shrinks! It was double digits! I MAKE PROGRESS.

I also decided that the Fairytale fic is just going to have to become an original. I kind of hate to do it, but trying to find places to etch on the serial numbers was killing it. So it's going to get removed from the To Do List and set aside until I have time to deal with it properly.

(flop) According to the numbers I just ran, if I can just manage to write about 45k and edit about the rest, I'll be finished with this mess and able to concentrate on new stuff rather than stuff that's been clogging the works. Guilt over unfinished fics is a killer.

So, I have been a quiet Faerii lately, so a quick run down of life:

Everything's groovy.

No, really. I haven't seen Richard in weeks, Teen Wolf is just active enough to keep me from languishing while I wait for the Avengers to chill, and I'm very (omg so much!) pleased with my artists for the Cap/Iron Man Bang.

I'm going to wincon in October (leaving the 16th, return the 23rd). Current plans are to attend as one of the scarlet stockings. This isn't a costume I should have put off to the last second, so we'll see how it goes in real life.

Other than that, kittens grow well. They're more than old enough to be sent to new homes, but I can't find anyone who'll take them! If anyone has friends in the Florida Panhandle who are interested in a kitten, hit me up. If worst comes to worst, I may end up catapulted into being a An Old Cat Lady before time time. Ah, well, it was inevitable.

On writing news, the submission to the Teen Wolf contest went off without a hitch, and I will post the fic as soon as I lose the contest. C/IM Bang needs editing, but not terribly bad. It's less horrible than I expected. (Still need to add a sex scene, gdi.) I'm also working on polybigbang. This is where it gets trickier. I'm going to use Poly Bang as an impetus to force me to finish that massive monster of an Ultimates Fairy Tale AU. But sunspot and I are bros and I don't want to let her down by not submitting. So I'm doing two polybangs, for an estimated total of 100k new words. Due by October 10.

I'll give you a second to pantomime about how you can't believe I'm this stupid. No, it's cool, I get it.

If anyone needs me, I'm curled up into a ball under my desk wondering how I keep doing this to myself.

ETA: VH1 is being shipped with AfterElton by Teen Wolf, after having been set up by Entertainment Weekly. I feel like we've crossed some sort of fannish event horizon.

So, anyone on my circle going to be in Orlando for the Avengers? Some friends and I (waterofthemoon, gigglingkat and Kat's mom) are going to be meeting up for opening weekend. Quoted from Kat's locked post:

We've got the cheap motel for $58 a night - sleeps 4. The "suites" with a full kitchen deal - $107.

The City Walk portion of Universal is free admission - so you'd just pay the outrageous movie prices. If you wanted to join us for theme parks is where it would get pricy.

If we stay on Walt Disney property - the cheapest is the All Stars - $116 a night but you get free transport from airports and all around Disney property - including Pleasure Island where the movie would be.

Like City Walk in Universal, Pleasure Island's free and you just pay the outrageous movie prices.

We'd also get free transport to the Disney parks and just have to drive if we wanted to do Universal.

On the beta angle, I have a ~7k fic that needs beta by Christmas, if anyone wants to give me a hand? (bats eyes) It's fairly solid (I hope) I just like having a second set of eyes to reassure my fragile ego.

The guys we shared a row with claimed watching me watch the movie was worth the extra price for 3D tickets. (blush) I may have been a bit excite. Of course, they were also trying to pick up my cousin, so they may have had an angle. But they had some idea of comics, and didn't seem to mind spending the hour leading up to the movie listening to me go, "OMG you don't know about Winter Soldier?!" and the like. It gave me a chance to babble and calm down a little. Our interactions with them ended after the movie with me showing off the Sherlock Holmes trailer and my Earth 3490 desktop wallpaper. (Which incidentally sealed my "no you can't have my number" response when the one pushing visibly relaxed when I explained about Natasha Stark—apparently it would be "weird" if it's two guys. I love it when guys are nice enough to wear warning signs.)

Okay, movie! Please forgive me if I'm not quite achieving coherence. ;a; It is early and I'm worn thin for lack of sleep; seeing Cap last night was the final straw.

TL;DR, if I don't sleep through the weekend, I'm looking forward to seeing it again. This time with less flailing at the screen.
