I'm back! (?)

Hooboy. It's been a while! Like stepping into an old neighborhood. Some of the potholes have been filled in and there's new people, but it's the same... wtf did someone do to my old house's paint job?

(I'm going to need to come up with a new layout... or find the images on my harddrive and find a different host. Ugh Photobucket no I am not proudly hosted there, I am shamefully hosted there.)

Anyway, hello hello hello, welcome to my cave! It's nice to be back from Tumblr. Not that I ever really was on Tumblr, other than brief flurry of occasional activity followed by months of reblogging cat photos. If you're new to the Dreamwidth style of doing things, I am an old and a creaky and may have answers. Unless they changed something dramatic, in which case I am very good at finding answers. Win/Win, right?

For those who are following me but forgot who I am because it's been literal ages, I am tsukinofaerii, once of LJ, always of AO3. used to be active in Teen Wolf, Marvel and a whole host of other places, but now I mostly kick it and save my energies. (I am Old Now. I accept this.) I'm eternally interested in The Old Steve/Tony of Marvel (MCU is... meh in many ways. I yell at it a lot for reasons I know are stupid), dragons and fantasy, worldbuilding of all sorts, being a curmudgeon, Kingdom Hearts, Dragon Age and screaming into the void. I am currently interested in Dragons and Dungeons (running a 5e game for over a year and they've only almost committed accidental genocide once!), especially Dragons and Dungeons that are played on Critical Role, and Kingdom Hearts (KH3 KH3 KH3). I also play Don't Starve, Dragon Age, Stardew Valley and a whole host of other video games, but my playing is sporadic at best. Some views make me dizzy, and in many games it's too much to overcome. For this reason, not much co-op here. Co-op gaming while dizzy is not fun.

I'll try and remember to post more frequently. Adulthood is exhausting. Never grow up. And if you have grown up, de-age yourself stat. Being able to eat a whole cake all by yourself isn't worth having to drive yourself to the ER because you ate a whole cake all by yourself.

My writing has died a horrific death stagnated, partly because of adulthood and partly because (I think) I'm a community-driven person, and Tumblr was not terrible community driven. I sort of dropped out of Teen Wolf around S4 (I think? After Allison), but a dear friend is doing an unspoiled playthrough of Dragon Age, starting from Origins. It has my brain bubbling again.

Her reaction to Ostagar had me in stitches.

That's what I think I'll end up doing, if I can find the original files. I may end up starting from scratch, but I'm fond of this layout. Partly because it's just pretty, and partly because it means I don't have to make another one.

*laughs because it's true* That matches my experience entirely. I went to back-up my tumblr and realized that approximately 60% of its content is "pictures of cats that look like my cat."

I hope so! I want to stay active. Tumblr is amazing for a low-impact high-yield user experience, but it makes it very easy to just sink into the crowd and... never do. Anything? Apparently the Youngun's found community there but all I found were endless photos of strangers' cats.

(They were very cute cats though.)

Life hasn't been bad. 2017 was rough (attempted murder by brain grounded me for six months, gah), and 2018 has been a general shitshow on the American level, but not a personal one. I'm keeping on! How goes it in the warm right now?

Ugh, yeah sounds like 2017 was rough for a lot of people. I hope your brain is doing better these days, american politics aside (I'm not actively seeking out news about US shit because I am trying to be kind to myself and it's all mostly horrifying).

Things have been pretty tough on my end. Caring is easier some days than others, and it's always worthwhile but I have given up a lot along the way. 2017 was very rough, the beginning of 2018 also. Things are gradually starting to improve but it's a long and slow process and there's no fixed endpoint that I can point towards. Just getting out of bed every day and putting one foot in front of another.

But you know, every day is a new day. Today is shaping up pretty good :)

In the band-gets-back-together montage, I think I am the spouse that Mucca acquired in the closing credits of the last film and who has spent the last five years hearing about the team's adventures in the glory days and is completely squeeful to see a reunion. 😆😍😍
