FAIL, userbase

Well, the election's over. I thinklegomymalfoy won, but we won't know for sure until the votes are tallied. Hopefully LJ will make a post in ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-community.gif)
news saying they're tallying and addressing the various rumors that are flying around.
I'm not going to say what order my votes were in, but I did vote the fandom block. Honestly, I know that maybe one member of my flist is interested in this, but it helps me to layout my thoughts in type.

At the same time, I want to pull my hair out a little because... This is important. It's so important, to me and to a lot of other people. LJ is our home, and this would be a more direct way of speaking to our lease-holders about our concerns. But... come on, this amount of mudslinging from the supporters has been ridiculous. Admittedly, not all the candidates have comported themselves well, but the supports have made me headdesk more than once in this past week. And death threats? What kind of moron thought that one up? This is important, but very few things are that important. I'd rather lose LJ altogether than have a single person die.
I'm not even sure how to express my thoughts on that one coherently. Everytime I try, I throw my hands in the air and give up. It's just... SO STUPID. It makes me ashamed to be a member, to think that I might possibly have some six-degrees connection to whoever did this.

Election time
May. 23rd, 2008 11:11 amThe LJ Elections are up! I've been studying the candidates. I didn't support any nominations because, bluntly, there were several that I felt were pretty much all alike, and I didn't want to throw support to anyone unless I was sure.
However, now the nominations are done and the real stuff starts. So I dug. Of the 20-something available, I picked out 8 that I think I can live with. Mostly, I picked them based on how serious they appeared to be. Clearly, most failed to make the cut.
I'm a logical person, so when I came down to multiple people, I did what I normally don't do. I made a table. Here it is. Four people are currently tied for my vote. I'd like to get that down to two. I evaluated them based on a 0-3 scale of how much I liked and agree with what they have to say.
0 - didn't answer
1 - not really
2 - sort of
3 - definitely
Fandom was a 0 or 1 option based entirely on the feeling that someone who is active in fandom better represents me than someone who is not. Coincidentally, only one person fell out of the front runners because of this. The table's below the cut, coped straight from Excel. (For the record, I hate Excel HTML.)
