SPOILERS
Captain America Reborn Issue #4 comes out tomorrow, so I decided to go ahead and post Issue #3's recap now and finally be caught up. \o/ The cover of this particular, fine comic is Cap and a machine gun. No, I really don't get it either. Our cover theme seems to be Cap Is Awesome, without any connection to much of anything that happens inside the cover. Oh, well.

The sliding scale of Win gives this issue...
That's right! We finally get a picture of the one and only Tony Stark, and it instantly moves the Win Scale up a whole color! Wait? You want something else that's more than "meh"? Maybe next issue.
In our last issue... )

SPOILERS

Hello again, and welcome to the second edition of "can we just jump to issue five and have Cap back now please?" (Sad to say, the answer to that has been "no" thus far, but hope springs eternal, or at least for another few months.) On the cover (or at least, my cover), we have Cap choking Hitler. Isn't that nice? He's still managing to avoid eye-contact with the reader, which makes the artist inside of me shrivel a little. On the back cover, Bucky manages it, so that helps a little.

The sliding scale of Win gives this issue....

If you were hoping for anything informative or vaguely plot-like... I'm so very sorry.

SPOILERS

I've noticed that no one is doing a Reborn Recap. Not that I can blame anyone. >.> IT'S SO THRILLING. /sarcasm. *ahem* Anyway, I decided to do it, for giggles and so that someone has it laid out. As of this point, three issues have come out, so it'll take me a bit to get all three of them done.

I have a theory that they're using the Reborn series to set up a convenient jumping-off point for incoming Cap fans. That would explain why it seems to be mostly a flashback episode. They're laying out Steve for new fans who won't want to wade through decades of history. It would also explain why we don't see anything of Tony, even though the Steve v. Tony thing is still a giant dangling thread. This is Steve's story. Getting Steve's story mixed up with Steve & Tony's story would be too confusing for people who only know them as two separate movies.

This does not make the lack of Tony less fail.

So! Cap Reborn Recap: Issue One of Five. On the sliding scale of Win, I give it a...

Which is exactly why no one's flailing over it. Panel-by-panel commentary after the cut. Hopefully, I can make the commentary worth reading. I'll consider it a challenge.

My thoughts on Cap: Reborn, limited to one thought per page for maximum WTF factor. I picked my thoughts (of which there were many) for maximum random and confusion. If you know what's going on, you've probably already read it. :D

This does not mean there's no spoilers.
Cut for CAP SPOILERS HOMG YAAAAAAAY )
I can't wait to see the fanfic that comes out of this. :D
