Yes, as you've guessed, I finished NaNoWriMo. Finally. The rough draft clocks in at 85,076 words. Today I was just lazy lol. I didn't want to write. Also, it was cold. :(
I am kind of :| at how a plot appeared at the last second that will have to be tied into things. Also, Tony had the last laugh. I did not plan for this. You see, something happens at the very end, which I didn't see coming until it did. (sigh) I will link two excerpts, so you will see.
And now that I am freeeee~, it is time to work on my prompt! EEEEE! I love my prompt so much. It is going to be cracky love. But, in the interests of keeping Secret Santa Secret, I will not be posting about it the way I did NaNo. :( You may hear the occasional ranting, but no public details and no excerpts. Sadface. Tomorrow, I will get on with the outlining. This fic will not be nearly as big, but I hope to make it a pretty solid size. Last year my exchange fics were all shortish, but I made up for it by having multiple. This year, I want to do just one biggish one, and with this prompt, I totally can. It will actually be hard to remind myself that I don't have time to do an epic!
Anywho! IDK what I will do with my journal now that NaNo is over. I have posted about almost nothing except it for nearly a month! (flail) But this is Faerii's NaNoWriMo, signing off for 2010. ♥ Thank you, everyone who cheered me on! ILU GAIS. (hugs!)

Moving at half his usual speed, Steve snatched up the plate to rescue it before Tony knocked the tray, food and all, to the floor. He held it overhead which, in retrospect, was a bad tactical move. "You'll ruin the food," he accused as Tony peeled back the blankets.
"You're not going to eat it, and I'm not going to eat it," Tony said reasonably, hooking his fingers in Steve's light blue sleep pants. His goatee scratched Steve's cheek as he kissed his jaw. "If you're worried about leftovers, we should get a dog. Then Martine can stop worrying about my small appetite."
"Did you steal us a puppy?" Tony asked gleefully, bending down to get his share of the licks. It transferred its affections without hesitation, utterly ruining Tony's suit with dog fur as it soaked him from chin to hairline.
"Not precisely." Thor ruffled the puppy's fur, getting an absent lick in return before it switched back to Steve, who had just started getting up from the floor. "He will appear to be a Bernese Mountain Dog."
"Should it be that big?" Jan asked behind Tony's shoulder. "And what do you mean, appear to be?"
"Never mind that." Tony grabbed the puppy's collar and hauled back. There was a brown leather leash in the box, slightly chewed, so Tony hooked it on. "I'm naming him Jarvis, since he's already trying to slobber all over Steve. Come on, Jarvis, down boy!"

I wonder what's up with the dog. I had to check wikipedia to make sure it's the race I thought it was an yay! My best friend has a dog like that. They are so pretty =)

wouldn't have thought of Tony as the dog type. Is that an Asgardian dog? Anyway, good luck with the editing.

Date: 2010-11-29 03:51 pm (UTC)His reasoning is kind of depressing. He figures, if they have a dog, then Steve will not go off and get himself killed so easily, because he will care too much to leave the dog alone. The subtext being that Tony is not enough to prevent that. :(
It will technically be an Asgardian dog, though right now it is just adorable.
