Scoooooooooore! \o/

Today was made difficult by distractions. It seemed like my coworkers would not stop talking. (sigh) But I managed to hit my chosen goal by the time work was done (seriously, slow day was slow), and have been letting myself goof off as a reward. I hate my story slightly less, mostly because of a completely gratuitous moment I got to write today. But my arms still hurt.
After this, I shall seek vetwrap and, possibly, some sort of ointment. (Hidden benefit of living with an elderly person. There are always things like Bengay and Icy-Hot around.)
In other news, I got my
cap_ironman fic exchange prompts! (cuddles them) I already know which one I am doing, and may use planning it in order to give my brain occasional breaks. Not too much. Word count for my NaNo story is still a push this month. I want to either finish this thing in November or see how high I can get it in 30 days. (gulp) I am also thinking of doing a multi-media project that will involve audio, manips and fic, worked into a seamless whole in an attempt to get a one-shot blackout on my
fanbingo card. Once started, this will take effort, careful scripting, and a full flexing of my multimedia skills. Before started, this will take the acquisition of multimedia skills.;;
Drum roll, please! (Dah-dah-dah-dah-dah-dah) Today, my word count reached...
50,085 words!
Last year, I hit my 50k on the 15th too. Next year, maybe I will aim for the 14th, or the 16th to keep from developing a pattern. I only wrote 2,943 words, but hey! I topped 50k. :D
Since I'm past the big five-oh, I am still going to keep track of what I write in numbers, but I will post excepts at a whim. At least one a day. IDK how long this will go on. I still have quite a bit of in-fic time before I can get to the climax. When I go back through on the revisions, I will have to take a look at tightening it up quite a lot.

Images like yesterday hovered just behind his eyes, ready to spring forward. Steve gripped the edge of the table and focused on breathing and keeping down his dinner. "Tony...."
"Yes?"
German accent. He had a German accent. No, no, not German. New York. Breathing was hard again, and the pounding in his head had developed a rhythm. Steve didn't open his eyes to look at Tony, afraid that if he did he wouldn't see him. "I think—I think you need to put me back in the cuffs."
Tony's skin glittered in the sun, sending back a brilliant, rainbow colored array of sparkles every time he moved even a little. Wanda's hand hovered over his bare chest, feeling the hot summer sunlight rebounding off of it. If she squinted, she could just make out Tony's skin behind the glimmer, without a sign of flames, or even a slight charring, like she'd come to expect from vampires exposed to sunlight.
When she pressed her hand down, she nearly burned herself.
"I know that I'm in excellent shape for a dead man," Tony's voice said, muffled and indistinct as he obviously tried to speak without opening his mouth any great amount. "But can you please not grope me when I'm down?"
Tony is a sparkle vampire?
Date: 2010-11-16 08:00 am (UTC)Congratulations on breaking the 50k mark! Now, can you please rest your hands?
Re: Tony is a sparkle vampire?
Date: 2010-11-16 03:28 pm (UTC)D: Yes Mommy!Jazzy. (fidgets) I was actually thinking about using today to plan, tidy, and copypasta stuff. Minimal writing. Also! Vetwrap seemed to help.
Any sort of wrap is good for the hands

Date: 2010-11-16 05:51 pm (UTC)Congratulations
Date: 2010-11-16 03:01 pm (UTC)I'm glad you don't hate it as much. I guess now you'll have plenty of time to edit.
I got my prompts for the Cap_Ironman Fic Exchange too. Don't know which one I'm going to do yet.
Did Wanda's powers turn Tony into a sparkly vampire?
Thank you!
Date: 2010-11-16 03:35 pm (UTC)December is unofficially NaNoEdMo (National Novel Editing Month), but I think I'll take a break to get things in order. I have too many scenes that need to be at least noted and too many plot holes. It makes it hard to go forward. :\ Last year, it took me to January to actually get the blasted thing posted. This year, I would like to try and make it in time for the end of December.
:D I hope you fall in love with one of them. It is the best way when that happens.
Technically, Tony's powers of SCIENCE turned him into a sparklepire. He figured that, as much as he plays with ultraviolet weapons and as often as he's in battled, he would eventually find himself as a crispy critter if he didn't take precautions. So he programed his nanites to form a hard, reflective casing in times of crisis. He's still working on a clear casing so that he can walk around in sunlight like normal.
(overthinks these things)

Date: 2010-11-16 04:41 pm (UTC)I got my prompts too, and I think I know which one I'm going to do. *wriggles* Hopefully will not screw it up.
And I second momma!Jazz--go take care of yourself! In amusing and relevant duckling news, I now have one out with an eye injury/concussion (no news as to whether injury was from headdesking over his paper). Another has broken his left arm after breaking fingers on his right hand, and sent me a video message asking for an extension and apologizing (!) for the inconvenience. If you end up in casts because you did not take care...*menaces you with bad!fic*

Date: 2010-11-16 05:46 pm (UTC)I will probably be rolling around in mine in locked posts, because seriously, it's cracky joy.
Shucks. (toes the dirt) I try. And I will not be pulling any more 7k days. But I don't want to let it sit entirely, or I will completely lose my thread, and then it will languish and DIE. D: But I do not want to end up in casts and menaced with Bad!Fic.
GRAMMAR FAIL IN MY HTML!
Date: 2010-11-16 10:48 pm (UTC)From now on, he shall be called Tony Spark.

Date: 2010-11-17 12:36 am (UTC)Also CONGRATULATIONS ON FINISHING NANO!
I'm in awe of your Write Or Die skills. I hope you're not planning on writing the same amount of words again, seeing you still have half the time left. I think you'll still need your hands after November. D=

Date: 2010-11-17 02:20 am (UTC)♥ Thank you! My Write or Die skills are making me pay. (eyes bandaged wrists) I plan to slow down a bit (no more 7k days!), but I'd like to have this wrapped up and ready to post by the end of December. Combined with my Fic Exchange prompt, I will be a busy Faerii!
