Day Eleven

Today I slept and wrote. Mostly slept lol. I needed it. I seriously don't get nearly enough sleep Monday through Friday, so this Wednesday was a nice little break. The puppies are squirmy and healthy; two boys and a girl. So far I have managed to resist the pressure to move their box into my bedroom. I don't sleep well when I have little ones in my room, so they can stay out in the living room until there's a better reason than "this way you can keep an eye on them".
Tony would like me to report that Goldschläger is indeed very nummy, though he thinks that it should be in a mixed drink rather than sipped from the bottle. I think he's just being picky because he can't have any. BRB, going to mix a drink, just to make Tony stop complaining.
Note to self: cinnamon schnapps and raspberry ice Crystal Lite: weeeeeeird flavor mix. Maybe try coffee next time.
Today's writing wasn't easy by any means. Action Scenes. ARGH. And, as always when I write at home, family does not know how to wait until I am not writing to try and catch my attention. Other than that and a few hiccups (really, Steve, you need to stop pushing so hard, I promise I'll make it better), writing was good. :D
Totals! \o/ Total words: 35,757! Which means that today I wrote 4,880 words! (happy dance) I'm almost there! And since I passed three quotas, you get three excerpts. Spoilers, etc.
Tony and Steve Talk. It goes about as well as you'd expect.
I hate action scenes. Hate them. And what did I mostly write today? Action. GRAWR. At least I included window diving. It's in Cap's contract.
I had to get this jab in there. I had to.

"Potts said that we'd been sleeping together exclusively for a year." And he hadn't believed her. Hadn't wanted to believe her. "Want to tell me about that?"
"Not in the least. I think I'd rather take a swig of vodka." Tony didn't turn around. "I had an arm full of a very vigorous, very eager Captain America every other night. I don't think I would have had the energy to entertain anyone else."
Steve stared at his back. It was so stiff that he could probably bounce a penny off it. "I don't get you."

"Twenty five meters... Fifteen..." A large bay window approached, stretching across the top story of the building nearly from edge to edge. "Ten... Releasing passenger... Now!" The handle on Iron Man's side cracked and dropped away just as Tony cut sharply upward. Steve dropped off, spinning through the air straight towards the window. He brought his shield up just in time to deflect the shards, rolling to kill his momentum as he hit the floor.
I had to get this jab in there. I had to.
Tony stepped out of the bathroom and snatched the remote control from Steve, flipping the television off before it could do any more damage to his fragile ego. "You're watching Fox, you heathen bastard. At least have the decency to turn on CNN if you're so interested in the speculation about me." He dropped down to the bed at Steve's side and crossed his legs, tucking the tiny hotel bath towel around his hips. Outside, the sun had begun its inevitable climb over the city, but the blackout curtains kept the room snugly dark. "Though Fox does have much more attractive anchors, I'll admit that much."

Date: 2009-11-12 08:28 am (UTC)Goldschlager is vile. The drink looks good in the bar, but vile.
I commiserate re: action scenes, but your story is looking good, though, and yay for sleep! :D
