Weirdness abounds already today. @.@ I will spare everyone the work-based blather, but I will summarize by saying "VISTA. IE7. BLARGH."
I'm not caffeinated enough for this stuff.
Still reading through Essential Iron Man. LMAO at the "laser light". Ah, the 1960s were crazy times, yes? Also, it seems the Russians want to take over the world. Who doesn't? I do have to wonder about Tony, though. Really, who in their right minds abandons someone who is likely to be from Eastern Europe to show themselves around a factory filled with super-sensitive, super-secret gadgets when, at the time, much of Eastern Europe was Not Our Friends? Tony, baby, I know you're a ladies' man, but can we get two ounces of sense here?
Speaking of fandom! I got my shirt yesterday! It will be edited appropriately this weekend. \o/ The fabric is super duper thin, so I'm going to have to be careful. I'm also going to do a wash and wear test with the markers on another shirt, just to make sure it's colorfast.
Still annoyed at the lack of girl's shirts. :x You'd think it's a boy's club with "NO GRLS ALOWED" written over the door. But maybe I'm just being sensitive because manga and jrpgs are generally girl-friendly. I'm totally going to have to work on my t-shirt making skills before the next Iron Man movie. If I can't manage to wear some sort of "Iron Man ♥ Captain America" shirt, I may end up having to wear a skimpy top and write it on my chest, and that would just be horrible. Those theaters get freezing! BRR!

Date: 2009-06-19 04:55 pm (UTC)I'm half-way through volume one, and I'm kind of loving the pattern of the plot, in all it's ageless corn. They don't even try to hide the handwavium.
1) Tony does something ridiculous and expensive.
2) Obligatory Secret Identity reference.
3) Meet the bad guy! There is gloating and abuse of the word "comrade".
4) ATTACK! Oh noes!
5) Iron Man just happens to have the random item/magnets/transistors/extension cord (o.O) that will Save The Day.
My favorite quote so far is, "Now to get out of this contraption and become just plain ol' Tony Stark again, the average ordinary ever-lovin' millionaire playboy industrialist!" I need to make an icon based on that.

Then again, I also remember Tony thinking about sticking around without a thought to recharging. Maybe it's an early example of "in a cave with a box of scraps".
