Sleeeeeeep.
Today was a pretty quiet day. Pain has, mostly, stopped. What hasn't stopped, I blame on my cat. One of them decided to play Mommy Trampoline last night. We were, and still are, not amused. (sigh) Other than that, I goofed off a bit today. Watched the new Karate Kid movie. While it was awesome, I'm getting just a wee bit miffed at Hollywood. Can we please get some original ideas that are blockbusters? Lately it seems like everything is an adaptation or remake. Don't get me wrong, they're still great movies, but it's pretty obvious that Hollywood is running out of ideas.
TL;DR, it's getting late, and I have a minimal of babble in me. I'm struggling with Science here. Science and lots of time that needs to be filled while Science does its thing. Made even more difficult by the fact that two of my main characters are holed up and not doing much of anything. :\ Gr.
Anyway, today's word count reached 21,886, which means today I pushed out 4,696 words! Not as impressive as yesterday's, but I didn't expect it to be. (Yesterday beat last year's Best Day record.) I managed to pass three different quotas again, though only by numbers games lol.

They stared at each other, something Jan couldn't describe passing between them. Steve's unfocused gaze lost the battle. He stopped trying to get up and sagged back against the pile of pillows, eyes closed. "You'd better be right about this, Stark."
"If I'm not, you can spank me after you're back on your feet." Tony's grin didn't reflect in the rest of his expression, which was tight with worry. "In fact, you can do it anyway."
Just as he started to drift off, something prickled his neck. Hair. Tony's goatee. He shifted away, but it followed. "Steve?" Tony whispered, directly into his ear. His voice was so soft, Steve could barely hear it.
"Hm?"
Cold lips touched his cheek. "Don't worry, Steve. There's always other devils."
Even though he wasn't looking, Hank could feel Thor staring through him. As if he was measuring him, stretching him out on a glass slide and putting him under the universe's microscope. Bruce had described it once. When he and Fury had first tried to recruit Thor. Like he saw my soul, Bruce had said. He saw everything. Even things I'd never told anyone.
At the time, Hank had scoffed and said that it was just a trick of the campfire and a well-timed meteorological event working on Bruce's superstitions. Now, he squirmed under that same gaze.
The air smelled like a thunderstorm.
