(no subject)
Apr. 22nd, 2010 12:12 pmI've decided to participate in BoobQuake on April 26. Alas, I am "only" a C-cup (eyes roll at people who think a C-cup is small), and will add to the Richter-scale with a push-up bra and girl!Cap's padding. Work makes this tricky, but I think I can arrange for supercleavage to coincide with business attire.
Fear for Florida, everyone. We're already toeing the line with all of these beaches.
In that vein, HAPPY BIRTHDAY

I didn't work out yesterday as I should have. D: It was a 40-minute walk day. (Technically, that was Tuesday and yesterday was a rest day, but epic rainstorm of epic and all. I was trying to make up the loss.) Lately, I bring my dog, because Zena insists. Doing this has earned me the privilege of having her sleep on the chair next to my bed, instead of on the floor at the foot. Progress!
Anyway, when Zena and I went outside to get started, Set wanted out too. Set is an indoor/outdoor kitteh. He stays outside pretty much, except to eat/sleep/use the litterbox/in bad weather/in hot weather/in cold weather/whenever he feels like coming in. I didn't think anything about letting him out, and he did his usual thing of vanishing off into the brush.
So! Zena and I started our walk. At the speeds I go (my speeds have been set by Tyrant), 40 minutes lets me cover about three miles of driveway usually. It takes a bit of back-tracking, but I never need to walk along the highway. We got past the dirt part (roughly 1/5 of a mile) and my music switched. In the momentary quiet, I heard a desperate "MROW!" behind me. Naturally I turn to look, and there's my kitty, bolting up the road after me. He wanted to go for walkies too!
So away we went, at a much slower pace to accommodate stubby kitty-legs. Around 17 minutes in, I had only achieved a most of a mile. If I tried to speed up, I got the "MROW!" again. At one point, I had to carry him. And then, there were the dogs.
Normally, we don't have a huge problem with dogs along our area. We used to, but people seem to have gotten better about keeping their dogs inside. There's definitely a few that we meet up with regularly, but everyone gets along so it's not a big deal. This time, there were two Unknown Large Hostiles. And I had a Shih-Tzu with a penchant for attacking pit bulls and a cat. I'm not sure if they were wild dogs (which we do have a problem with, but which don't typically come out in the open in daylight) or if someone forgot to latch a gate. Needless to say, I snatched up both of my babies and we high-tailed it back home, thankfully without incident.
So yesterday, I achieved almost-two mostly-very-slow miles, but I got a good story out of it, so I consider it a non-fail.
