I don't wanna grow up, I'm an over-sized kid....

Avoiding work again. Well, I'm supposed to be making tutorial handouts of frequent issues as busy work. Guh. Pain. And the only things I can think of that students have repeated issues with are things like "Downloading a File" and "E-mailing Your Teacher". Not things I want to actually sit down and think out the steps to. (Seriously - most of the issues are so simple that it's hard for me to remember how they're done!)

Looking back over the last few entries, I'm kind of starting to wonder if work is dragging me away from Fandom. o.o My recent posts have been more politics (LJ and RL) and memes than my usual randomness. Or family complaints, though those still happen. I haven't even written a fic lately. Well, I haven't posted a fic lately, mostly because I reached a new low in my writing and am not really sure I want to attach my name to it. (sweatdrop) And I don't mean low as in style or grammar. It's all content. Scary content. o.o; And yaoi has been non-existent, possibly because most of my posting is from work, and while no one's looking over my shoulder I'm kind of hesitant to accidentally hit something NSFW at the exact wrong moment.

Am I growing up?

I've decided randomly and with absolutely no experience what-so-ever to make an Organization XIII jacket. With my vast monetary and temporal resources, it should be a snap.

Anyways, I've been pondering this idea for a while, but stumbling on some cosplay sites lately has pretty much pushed me over the edge. I want to play Axel. Badly. Really badly. Worse than I want to go to YaoiCon (which is amazing because I've never been to a Con and logic says that doing that should be better than being able to spike my hair, fall to the floor and say "he made me feel like I had a heart" in the best death scene EVAR). Since I've never managed to design and create any piece of clothing ever, I'm going to make a Barbie-sized one first. It won't have anywhere near the detail (no pockets!), but I'll be able to use smaller swatches of fabric and spend less time sewing. Three or four of them should give me the details of the pattern I need to make. In general, I think it'll be less expensive and as equally educational as starting with a full-sized one. I'll post pics as I go. It'll be something fun to drag to work with me. The Barbie one, not the real one, that is. @.@ Whoo-boy, the real one's going to be interesting. I haven't used a sewing machine since Jr High Home Ec. (10 years!) Everything I've done since then has been by hand. Even the Renaissance dress I made in my High School history class was done by hand.

One day I hope to manage a Shadow Heartless Plushie. *_*
