More Bad Month
Sep. 25th, 2007 02:24 pmOi. I'm sure racking up the extra hours this month. Brittany just called and basically said that her Mom's having a breakdown (for reasons I can guess at but can't really be sure of) and I would have to work her shift tonight. I think her father blew $6000+ somehow. He does this kind of thing pretty regularly, but pulling it on a woman in the hospital recovering from a stroke is a new low, even for him. She was already upset about the financial trouble he already had us in (to the point where they're in bankruptcy), and a small mountain of other problems. Now this. I could slap him. What is it about the women in my family and suicidal taste in men? At least my Mom's supposed to be coming out to help with things, but I don't know if she can get here before Mary works herself into another stroke with stress.
Anyways, I'll be at work until 8 tonight again. The upside of this is that I should get a chance to dl a RuroKen episode I've been trying to find, and that I'm putting six more hours on my paycheck. The downside is that I'm going to be a wreck by this weekend if this keeps up, and we (Brittany and I, maybe Devon) are probably going to have to bust ass this weekend. Lovely.
Anyways.. yeah, no online tonight. Maybe I'll be able to get some writing done, but as tired as I am, I'll settle for not falling asleep midshift. I might even work on finishing the latest Stan picture; Powerpuff-style is surprisingly complicated to work in. I won't be home until 9 (off at 8 and then it's an hour-long drive) and then I have to get up at 5 tomorrow... eep. Exhaustion, thy name is mine. Or will be, in any case. At least the shower is working (sort of - the water pressure sucks), so I won't have to stay up until midnight to wash my hair. (I have very long hair - a bath is useless for washing it without two tubs of water, and even that leaves a residue.) I still need to call Papa and let him know I'll be late, or else he'll fret. *sigh*
ETA: I EAT BRITTANY. After I spent an hour, an hour, trying to wrangle my dinner before being left alone at work for the evening (and ths unable to leave the lab) and not being paid for it besides, she called and said she's COMING IN. >
