I'm terribly, inexcusably behind on everything except work (which has much priority), and I keep putting them off. This includes actually participating in... erm. Anything. :( I still love you guys! Really! I have Things to Say and Do, but am just too altogether BLARGH to say or do them. I'm tired, cranky and I want this month to be over with and to have my house back. I will possibly have jury duty this coming Monday, but I have been ordered to weasel out of it if I can, as it is Very Bad Timing.

Kitteh and Doggeh integration has not gone so well. When the doggeh behaves, the kittehs attack him with all pointy ends flying. When the kittehs behave, the doggeh goes all RRRRRGRLOWSNARLRUFFRUFF. I haven't been pushing hard, but I've already laid down a law that if we can't get canine-feline relations back to a neutral state by February, the problem dog is going home with Louise.

I've taken up knitting in Papa's room when I have free time and he's awake. It doesn't happen much. Usually he's asleep by the time I get to sit down for the evening. :\ But he seems to appreciate the company, and knitting is progressing nicely as a result. It's nice and quiet, since Papa is watching his shows and no one really comes into his room casually. Writing has suffered from family interaction, though. It's terribly off-putting when someone literally pops up over your shoulder and goes, "EWWWW CRYSTAL'S WRITING POOOOOOORN" even when it's not porn at all. Or the constant demands that keep me on my feet. Grumpgrumpgrrrr. (Okay, maybe the cats are taking a cue from me. I should just drag Doggeh in to sleep with me and force the issue for a few days.)

Also considering putting up "WAKE ME AND DIE" notices, or threatening to rent a motel room. I'm really, really tired of being woken up waaaay early on a weekend because one of the dogs needs to be called inside, or there was a spill of birdseed or (my favorite) asking when I'll be getting up to do ABCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQRSTUVWXY&Z things. I arrange breakfast so I don't have to get up for a reason, damn it. And after the initial wake-up call, the best I can do is doze, which results in my "sleeping in" until noon and then getting lambasted for laziness. IDK how long I'll be able to keep going on 5- hours a night without weekends to sleep on. :\ I can't blame it all on Louise, obviously, but there's nothing I can do about Mary, whereas at least Louise is a temporary issue. (Also, she did most of her own dishes from the fish fry last night, which I appreciate.)

TL;DR, stressed Faerii is very stressed, and needs some peace and quiet, or unreasonable overreactions will likely continue. (Ask anyone who has heard me complaining about the Kudos system for details.) I did treat myself to a couple of pretty bras and bath stuff, which has helped a bit. Cannot really afford it, but IDEFC right now.

In good news, my mother tells me that my great -grand child ren do well. Two of them have the sniffles, but a vet has been seen and antibiotics are being administered. One of them is just like their grandmother Zena, and has already made multiple forays outside the Box to explore the vast world of the master bedroom, including once to track down her mother because she was hungry and Mama just wasn't there fast enough. I also saw Green Hornet, which was amusing and fun, but not very heavy. Worth a view, IMO.

Darling, this is not selfish whinging, it is simply good sense to know when you are being treated like Cinderella but without the obscenely wealthy future husband hovering in the wings. *pets you* I am sorry to hear that the Cousin is staying until February (w.t.f?!), but glad to hear she is at least sort of pulling her weight and that you have an option for asshole dog ejection.

Focus on the new puppies! They are ADORABLE. :D

It is, I think, because it's not like Mary or Papa are able-bodied. It's really just ridiculous to be so stressed about providing it, or the way I provide it. :\ It needs doing, so I should just do it, instead of bitching that it made me get up from whatever else I was doing. (I am righteously annoyed at the attempted appropriation of my stuff, but that's a different rant, and I seem to have dodged it regardless.)

I need a Self Pity tag.

They are adorable! All but one have secured homes so far, but there's no telling who will go where. My mom is insisting that people come and let the puppies choose their people. Hopefully, all will work out and my parents won't have an exponential doggy crisis.

SPOILERS (sort of) AHOY

It's a pretty good movie, but not gripping, and I spent a lot of the thing wondering what Kato (who is super-competent and mature) sees in Britt (who is not). Britt wasn't even charming or charismatic, which would have excused a lot. I also did not buy the whole Dudebro Buddy Cop thing. I was very pleased with how Lenore's character was handled, though.

Hmm, I was wondering that about Kato as well! There are some actors who can pull off "I'm learning the ropes, and I'm an asshole, but you love me because of my other qualities!" (see: Chris Pine as Captain Kirk, glerk), and I had hoped Seth Rogen could manage it. Sorry to hear that he cannot. :( Were the stunts good, and did they manage to avoid race!fail?

Britt's other qualities are unfortunately "drunken fratboy" and "rich", on top of being a newbie asshole. You might like him, but I just didn't get it. Stunts were good, and Fail was largely avoided. There are times when Britt made me cringe with fail, but it was later played out satisfactorily.

*purses lips unhappily* Definitely a matinee at the cheap theater, then, perhaps with a flask. Bah, that's too bad -- drunken fratboy and rich fraturniture are serious no-goes for me. :(

It's luckily a minimal part of the movie. Most of it centers around superhero hijinks. It essentially made him unlikable to me, though. Luckily, Kato and Lenore carry the movie.

He must really lack charisma because drunken rich fratboy nwebie asshole is a pretty good definition of movie!Tony (even though he probably wasn't a fratboy seeing as he graduated younger than most freshmen, he acts like one).

That's exactly it! Plus, at least Tony had some redeeming characteristics and a story arc to support it. He genuinely cared about people, had a crisis of conscience and attempted to make right. Britt pretty much spent the whole movie wrapped in his own ego, and even his moment of "seeing the light" was wrapped up in his egotistical fantasyland more than any actual understanding of what he was doing.

Also, Tony's Drunken Fratboy Escapades had class, and at least he took responsibility for himself. Britt... not so much.

Okay, my annoyance by him may be a little tinged with hatred. But just a little.

Plus although they are learning the ropes Tony and Kirk have the brain to back some if not most of their ego.

On a scale of fratboy shenanigans, it is very classy. Especially compared to taking a girl home to make out in your father's classic car collection followed by sex on the fold out couch.

No, it's not selfish, you're handeling this much better than I would. It sounds horribly exhausting and unnerving, plus you're not getting enough sleep which really sucks. I'd probably have lost it by now. everyone needs sleep, that should not be so hard to understand! If I can't at least sleep in on the weekends, people's lives are in danger.

But! PUPPIES! make everything better. *nods* (They're so cute!)

Ah, but according to Other People, the solution is just to go to bed earlier, never mind that doing such would essentially cut my life down to work, sleep and chores. (sigh)
