Headlining!

I haven't been very good about updating lately. I wonder why? ._. Anyways! Topping the news in personal life...

  • Mary's back from visiting Emma. *sigh* It was hit and miss on her return date for various reasons, but she finally got in yesterday. Her first act was to completely destroy my wonderfully clean kitchen. Damnit. It took me an extra half-hour to clean up the mess when she was done "cleaning out the refrigerator and putting things into smaller containers". That time doesn't include washing dishes. We didn't need the space, the ick splashed on the counters, the truckload of dishes...

I really just give up. Next time, I'm just washing the dishes and leaving the rest for the weekend, and if it's more than a quick mop-and-wipe job I'll leave it. If she can't even keep from leaving her shoes on the kitchen counter, much less wipe up spills, I don't see why I should bother cleaning up after her. /bitter

  • I'm 50 hours into FFXII and just finished with the Garif Elder lol. I think I'll spend the next ten hours wandering around killing things to level up and maybe do some hunts when they don't kill me horribly. :D Yay for Larsa and his magical potion supply.

I find it amazingly amusing that Larsa, at his current level, could probably take out the Imperials on the Leviathan all by himself. No wonder he manages to get out on his lonesome so often. He beats up his guards up and runs off!

  • I... am going to be an Aunt. Probably. Oh gods. D: My brother's girlfriend/fiancĂ©e is probably pregnant. Unverified by doctor, but verified by two take-homes and a missed period.

I know Steven will be a good father. He's great with kids. And they were already planning to get married; he just hadn't proposed yet. It was pretty well understood that theirs is not an economically viable time to get married. He really seems to love her, which floors me because he's always been a playboy. All of his previous girlfriends that I met were told up-front that he wasn't interested in commitment, and he wouldn't date a girl who couldn't handle that. Now he's in love and wanted to marry her even though she has a kid and... I'm still coming to grips with "my big brother is growing up, wtf world?!" over here. Which makes no sense because he'll be thirty soon for gods' sakes.

But at the same time she already has a kid from a previous marriage, which complicates things a lot. She's worried that her parents will kick her out (I hope they don't, but I've never met the people), and while my folks will happily take her in they don't really have the room for it. Neither one has a "good" job (who does, these days?). But... you know, their decision, and I'm proud of him for standing by her. (Reportedly, when he found out the first thing he asked was, "When are we going to the doctor?")

I just can't help but worry. *sigh*

Also. Me? An aunt? THE FUCK is with that?

Ha, that's one thing these new parents DON'T need. Unlike many other parents, these two have my other brother, my dad, my mom, AND my grandma, all very willing to jump in and babysit at any notice. I generally get dragged along, but as I hate it (I have absolutely NOTHING to do there...) I beg off using schoolwork as an excuse. :/

True, true. Personally, I think you can't claim adulthood with age, but you can claim it AT any age. I've known I've been an adult for many years now. *Shrugs* Sometimes being an adult simply means you face the complete truth and aren't afraid to own up to issues or anything.

GOOD. About time.
