Well, in Thor it was essentially a growing up arc. Thor started out very YAY WAR but never considered the consequences (like, you know, people dying). He learned about other people, was humbled, and as a result started to become less self-centered. Loki had exactly the opposite development; he learned about himself, was elevated, and as a result became an asshole. We get a bit of that in the Avengers (Thor's line "in my youth I called it war").

LOL You pretty much just channeled me when I heard that idea. Apparently it's based off the "one good eye" piece? Which IDK I thought that came from IM2 (Nick saying "I've got my eye on you" to Tony, right before sicking Coulson on him). I work with a comics fan who stopped reading in the 80s, and he's all over the Vision thing. Possibly because it makes me hiss. There are Discussions. Loud ones.
