Happy New Year!

I have utterly failed at keeping up with DW lately. /o\ I'm just tired and stressed. Home life is a hassle, as always. Matters pretty much continue as they have been, and may be continuing for another year or more, gods save me. I've mostly been over on Tumblr, where there's less interaction and more mindlessness.

So, end of the year writing meme, because those are easy.

Fallen London
Pursuing the Quiet Deviless (Player/Quiet Deviless)

Final Fantasy XII
To the Sky, a Field of Snow (Larsa Ferrinas Solidor/Penelo)
Trial of Fire (Penelo/Larsa Ferrinas Solidor)

Early Retirement (Pepper Potts/Sam Wilson)
Waking the Dragon (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark)

Enduring the Interminable Tribulations of Friendship, the Invasion of a Foreign Establishment and an Unforeseen Rival: a Bystander's Perspective (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark)
Dilemmas on the Occasion of Invitations of an Enticing Nature, Distressingly Present Attributes, the Presence of Choirs of What are Most Definitely Not Angels, and Obligations to Souls As-Yet Unaccounted For but Never to be Forgotten (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark)

Total Fics:
24 fics written & posted (or due to be anonymously posted for the exchange) in 2012, so this doesn't include various WiPs (with the exception of one co-write) or "written in 2011 and published in 2012", for a rough total of... WELL THIS EXPLAINS THINGS. 310,000 words.

Suddenly, I feel better about being so close to burned out. I had no idea I'd written and posted that much. And that's NOT including 40k here or 20k there, and definitely not the 60k I added to that one monster fic, or things posted for funsies in random places...

(falls over)

Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
A whole hell of a lot more. I'd been feeling bad for being unproductive!

Where did you publish/archive your stories?
Pretty much everything went to AO3.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in December 2011?
Teen Wolf. Hands down, biggest surprise fandom ever.

What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.
Ooooh, tough one. I have to say Gangráðr, Faðmbyggvir Friggjar. It's not my main pairings, but damn if that fic wasn't fun. PENIS HATS.

Okay, NOW your most popular story.
(wince) That would be 9/10ths of the Law, hands-down. Which... IDK what to say about that. It's far from my best story, but I suppose it was just Chosen by the Claw.

Story most under appreciated by the universe?
Incidentally, also my favorite. Gangráðr, Faðmbyggvir Friggjar has, at current count, Comments: 19; Kudos: 77; Bookmarks: 18; Hits: 1660. For nearly 20k of fic. IDEK.

Story that could have been better?
All of them? I'm eying Catch a Falling Star especially hard, though. I could have done SO much more with that. (sigh)

Sexiest story?
King of Slut Mountain. Car sex, fuck yeah!

Most fun story?
Junk in the Trunk. It's short, but I had too much fun writing it.

Story with single sweetest moment?
Argh. DIFFICULT. IDK, I feel like I didn't do anything very sweet. 9/th of the Law, I guess. The Scott & Stiles scene was touching. I think. I tried to make it touching, anyways.

The story that made you cry?
Nothing this year. Unless you count tears of frustration, in which case Waking the Dragon counts.

Hardest story to write?
ARGH. That would be my Cap/IM exchange fic, which I cannot link as it has not been posted or revealed. Of the ones I can link, Catch a Falling Star. That one is so wonky on its timeline and culture and raaaawr.

Easiest story to write?
Puruing the Quiet Deviless, hands down. The card format made life so simple.

Most overdue story?
omg /o\ I would have to say... Vampire!Tony. Three years now, I think? EEP.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Ink Kink. I based a lot of Jess's reactions on mine. (When I got my lower back tattoo, I'm told I made a lot of very happy noises. Whoops.)

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
Biggest risk for me was the Most Earnest Report. The style is a challenge, and then there's culture clash and history, on top of it being an AU fusion.

I WANTED to finish the Ults Fairy Tale (my goal was to post a fic over 100k), but that just didn't happen. So what did I learn? Not to overload myself! I damn near died under the weight of some of my obligations. I DID start crying because of them a few times. Learned my lesson! Not doing that again. /liar

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
Finish my To Write/To Edit/To Post list. Right now it's 11 strong, and that's just ridiculous. Then I'd like to focus on finishing at least one of my in-progress series.

bb, you don't need to specify you're being squeaky. You're always squeaky. :D
