tsukinofaerii: This is how I roll (Panda)
[personal profile] tsukinofaerii
Tomorrow is my last day before spring break! (collapses) Thank goodness. I desperately need to adjust my sleeping habits, and that will be a good place to start. I've been utterly exhausted lately, and I can only attribute it to my habit of getting four-five hours of sleep a night. If you are used to me being available Monday-Friday online, be aware that my schedule is going to be perma-Saturday for a week. I have gtalk on my phone, however, so feel free to poke me there if you like.

Girl!Steve moseys along at 30k. I have revisions that I'm going to make before it's done (much of the reverse pre-plot will have to be cut/condensed, damn it), but my very next scene is due to be Cap Specials and shiny, and then the wrap up. Gail/Stevie is continuing to make me sniffle and cry, however. It's a good thing that's done with. I had to fix my mascara yesterday because of that. *sigh*

I have purchased my spot at [livejournal.com profile] wincon! I still have plane tickets to purchase and hotel accommodations to consider. (Seriously, everyone, this year can we get this done early? It's nerve wracking.) Expect a post on that later, which will mostly be urging those of you who are not WinConners to look around and come geek out with us. I would say that we don't bite, but honestly, I think the only reason I came away without hickeys is sheer bad luck and wasted Patrone. Not making that mistake again.

Okay, enough srs bsns.

The MP3 Shuffle! Stolen from [livejournal.com profile] eowyn_rain. Some of these are such gimmes. Also, I swear that my player has more music than this seems.

Step 1: Put your iPod MP3 Player on shuffle.
Step 2: Post the first line from the first 30 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.
Step 3: Let everyone guess what song and artist the lines come from.

*paws sadly at WinCon*

I fear the American border controls, so I am limited to UK cons. Looks awesome, though!

Yay Spring Break, though.

I should clarify that I am aware places other than the US and UK have cons, but I only speak English and Australia is Too Far and distressingly full of poison.

If you're at all interested, you should chat with [livejournal.com profile] velithya. She's from Australia and has gone to WinCon a couple of times. (She's going again this year, yay!) She could give you some information on US customs and whatnot. Alas, the only experience I have with border issues are being menaced by border agents when traveling in the American Southwest, which I can only assume are different from airports and such.

They will arrest me for being a Commie, or something, I know it. Everyone knows the Brits killed Stephen Hawking with their socialized medicine.

From: [identity profile] tsukinofaerii.livejournal.com
Nah, everyone knows we don't openly arrest people for being commies any more. We just stalk them and tap their phonelines.

Oh, that's cool, I never talk on the phone. The other day my phone rang and I couldn't remember how to answer it, I felt very foolish.

should have refreshed the comments earlier. You rang? :D

(also I assume 'distressingly full of poison' is a reference to all our poisonous animals ;P)

Have you ever been arrested by American customs and subjected to invasive searches before being thrown into a dungeon.

From what I've heard, Australia is, like, carved out of a giant block of strychnine and inhabited almost entirely by ambulatory fangs dripping with lethal venoms. Which they shoot at you.

Never! In fact I have never even been delayed! I have been to the US three times now and each time the border people were perfectly polite, checked my documentation etc, and then I was on my way in just a few minutes. :) I mean, I know you heard all these horror stories and all the rest but that certainly hasn't been my experience. Not even the first time when they asked me how I met the friends I was planning on meeting and I said 'on the internet' ;P

Naww that's not true! Most of the poisonous animals cluster around the perfectly safe and inhabitable vehicles and houses, waiting for you to set unshod foot outside ;)

Okay for reals now, unless you are going outback or whatever Australia is pretty urban just like anywhere else. The closest you gotta watch out for are a few spiders, which afaik tends to be pretty much like anywhere else!

1. Maroon 5 "She Will Be Loved"
12. Rent "Out Tonight"
14. a bazillion bands "Proud Mary"
19. MULAN "Reflection"

Aaaand that's all I know. xD Spring Break apparently equals memes on LJ.

"bad luck and wasted Patrone" Okay, seriously, that sounds like a story! If Wincon weren't so close to Dragon*Con, I could probably go. It seems really fun from the lj's description.

\o/ All four!

Yeah, there's a lot of memes going around lately.

Last year at WinCon, I spent more on alcohol than I did on my hotel stay. :D But because of the altitude sickness (I'm from sea level and the con was in Denver), I didn't drink nearly as much as I thought I would. Sometimes, I was almost sober. D:

I've never been to a big con, but WinCon is awesome. I have the best time there, and its very cozy and just fantastic.

I've not even heard of DRUNKHULK, and yet I suspect I may already be fascinated. Is DRUNKHULK exactly what it says on the tin?

The only one I know is #6 and someone already got it! Well. Unless #10 is alanis morrisette you oughta know, but I'm not sure if the opening line is right!

It is Alanis!

I think that there is a lesson to be learned from this meme. I have really obscure tastes to most of my flist.

Well actually I knew number 1 too, but someone had already got that one of course.

I was hoping I might be able to guess the Japanese ones but I couldn't make them fit a tune in my head, and the only one I can reliably recognise (and remember almost all of the words to) is the NGE themesong, so ^^;

Well, number one is well-known. (So are many of the rest too, but apparently my flist does not listen to country!)

They are both, ironically, anime songs, so if you didn't know the show you're unlikely to recognize them. Of all the jpop and jrock I have on my mp3 player, both ended up being geeky.;;;
