This is going to be my reference post. Every fanfiction I rate is going to link back to here, so people can understand what my tags mean. Please feel free to link to it, to use the system, or even copy/paste into your own journal. Credit is appreciated, but there's really no need. I'd also like to note that this system assumes no default for pairing type. For me, YAOI/Slash are the default and I prefer to be warned when something is veering away from that. Others feel differently, and I am actively attempting to respect that. Nothing will be assumed.

In a side-note, I know that absolutely everyone will be scratching their heads and going, "Why change?". My reasons for changing are actually pretty simple. I'm tired of looking at a fanfic and wondering how to rate the bloody thing! I'm also tired of seeing people rate something "PG13" because someone says "hell" when the rest of the story is pretty much soft-core everything. I think that, as writers, we should be concerned with the complexity of our stories and the seriousness of the theme. Little details like language shouldn't matter the way the MPAA system tries to make them matter. So call this a tiny rebellion.

There are only a few rating types. The "tags" for them have been deliberately chosen to not-mimic any system I know of, so as to prevent confusion. Well, confusion that doesn't from from an entirely new system which only I use. Ratings are not intended to reflect age of readers.
  • SNUG
Story Narrative Utterly Gentle: This story may contain very slight, possibly easily missed dark/disturbing themes, violence, sexuality or "profane" language as defined by the author's regional standards. The purpose of the story is not intended to be violent, dark, sexual or profane. This story is not complex morally or narratively. When content is in doubt, default to story level of complexity.

  • SNIP
Story Narrative Includes Profanity: This story may contain dark/disturbing themes, violence, sexuality or extreme "profane" language as defined by the author's regional standards. The purpose of the story is not intended to be violent, dark, sexual or profane. This story may be complex morally or narratively. When content is in doubt, default to story level of complexity.

  • SNAP
Story Narrative has Adult Purpose: This story may contain dark/disturbing themes, violence, sexuality or "profane" language as defined by the author's regional standards. The intent of his story is to be violent, dark, sexual or profane. This story is complex either morally or narratively. When content is in doubt, default to story level of complexity.

Let's all be honest. The warning system across Fandom varies so dramatically as to be virtually useless to new-comers. These are the only warnings I'll be using. If there's one you think is needed, please comment and tell me what and why. I'll add warnings to the list as I need them, and I am very open to suggestions.

Pairing Warnings: Male/Male, Male/Female, Female/Female, Polyamorus, No Pairing
Content: Violent, Animal Abuse, Child Abuse, Sexual, Profanity, Disturbing, Death, Crack
Spoilers: [Type]-Canon, Other Fanfiction, [Other Series]-Canon, No spoilers

Genres have been getting more and more confusing. Since when is "angst" a genre? I thought it was a warning! And with FFN's constantly changing types (they now have Friendship as a genre), some order needs to be brought to the chaos. I've resorted back to the old favorites, whose meaning usually doesn't need definition. Just in case, I've defined them and put in a few extras.

The Main Genre will always be the first listed. It is the signifier of how this story deviates from standard canon in terms of universe; if the standard canon does not deviate from the Main Genre (for example, Cowboy Bebop is SciFi), then the listing is "Generic". There is no "None". As such, I've kept only universe-type indicators for genre.

The Sub Genre will always be last indicated. It signifies how this story deviates from canon in terms of plot and intent. The Generic signifier functions the same as the Main Genre. There is no "None".

Complex warnings should be mentioned in the summary or hyphenated. For example, A story which is a SciFi-Fusion could be listed as such, or the summary can make it clear.

Main Genre
  • Generic
Does not deviate from standard canon.

  • SciFi
This story contains and is based around high levels of technology.

  • Fantasy
This story contains and is based around magic and magical creatures of a light-hearted nature

  • Supernatural
This story contains and is based around magic and magical creatures of a dark nature.

  • Historical
This story contains and is based around real-world history and historical events which may or may not be accurately represented.

  • Alternate Timeline
This story contains and is based around a deviation of standard canonical timeline, but is presumed to be rooted in the original work.

  • Crossover
This story contains and is based around the mixing of series from multiple original works while keeping original stories and plots distinct.

  • Fusion
This story contains and is based around the mixing of series from multiple original works by combining stories and plots into a single, distinct whole.

  • Alternate Universe
This story is rooted in a completely original setting with only character ties to the original work.

Sub Genre
  • Generic
Does not deviate from standard canon.

  • Romance
This story uses themes and devices which are used with intent to create a romantic air.

  • Horror
This story uses themes and devices which are used with intent to cause feelings of fear.

  • Humor
This story uses themes and devices which are used with intent to cause laughter.

  • Tragedy
This story uses themes and devices which are used with intent to cause sadness or depression.

  • Parody
This story uses themes and devices which are used with intent to make fun of an original work.

  • Fluff
This story uses themes and devices which are used with intent to evoke happy, fluffy feelings.

This I've decided to list because there are a lot of different story types. We're not a bookstore selling 95.9% novels and an occasional book of poetry or a story story. This is mostly for tagging purposes.
  • Drabble
    A story from 0-499 words.

  • Ficlet
    A story from 500-999 words.

  • Short Story
    A story from 1000-29,999

  • Extended Story
    A story from 30,000-49,999 words.

  • Novel-Length
    A story from 50,000-149,999 words.

  • Epic
A single story over 150,000 words.

  • Arc
A collection of multiple stories which connect to each other in terms of plot.

This defines nothing, but is simply a statement of how I'm going to do things from now on. For my own sake and the sake of anyone stumbling on my works, I'm now going to use only full words in the headers, especially in pairings and series. I may abbreviate in tags and in informal use, but headers will always use complete names.

Pairings will be listed in order of "top" and "bottom", with emotional connection and dominance taking precedence when no sexual relationship exists or when it trumps sexuality in importance. Relationships which are equal will be displayed with the first character's name in parentheses after the second character's name. A repeat of a character after a slash can be assumed to be a clone. No attempt will be made to signal complex or changing relationships, especially in polyamorous groupings. Pairings are listed in order of importance. Examples:
Sora/Riku - Sora is more dominate than Riku.
Sora/Riku(Sora) - equal relationship between Sora and Riku.
Sora/Riku/Sora - Sora has been cloned and is literally both top and bottom.
Sora/Riku/Roxas - Sora is dominate, Roxas is submissive. Riku is somewhere between.

Summaries will contain general plot of the story, less the climax. The story's status and type will be in the summary.
Disclaimers are supposed to be our tiny little metal shield against the dragon of copyright lawyers. As such, the following will be used.

My reaction, quite honestly?

I really couldn't think too much other then that by the time I finished reading this. XD This is BRILLIANT!

Although I would like to point out, "fantasy" doesn't necessarily mean light-hearted or anything. It simply means magic and stuff. But hey, your standards, so, who cares? *Shrugs and grins*

The reason for the fantasy thing was to separate it from "supernatural". Like... Unicorns versus Nightmares. Elves versus Vampires. I'm not sure why, but they tend to get categorized differently. Of course, this is going to get complicated the second I create blood-sucking demon unicorns who are still somehow bastions of lightness and fluff. (shrug)

*Puzzled* When I think of supernatural, I think of ghosts and spirits and witches and stuff like that......

Of course, this is going to get complicated the second I create blood-sucking demon unicorns who are still somehow bastions of lightness and fluff. (shrug)

*Cracks up* Oh LORD, please, PLEASE do!!! That'd be so dang hilarious! XD

But you know, people mix genre's all the time. One of my favorite genre's happen to be sci-fantasy, or scifi/fantasy, or however you wish you call it. There's a lot of ways... but that's definitely one of my more favorite genre's.

Another thing -- I never even noticed when "angst" become a genre, and not a description... huh. Then again, I've not been reading fanfiction long, so...*Shrugs*

I remember the very first fic I ever read -- it was a Naruto one, and I happened to come across a very good writer. Man was I lucky; such a great fic, and it got me completely pulled into Naruto..... It was hilarious, too. It was like, Sasuke, Neji, and Gaara all wanted Naruto... but who did Naruto want? It as awesome. It's called Chasing Naruto, I believe. It had multi-chapters, and the way she portrayed the characters was just SO awesome...particularly naruto. *Snickers*

Yeah, those are in there too. But when you think of fantasy, what comes to mind?

^^; Consider the idea filed. I actually have something sort of prodded to the back of my brain that might use it. Still trying to figure out how they'd be bastions of light and fluff. Maybe guardians of some sort? (considers) I mean, even the good guys sometimes need sheer fire power.

Ohgods, first fics. My first was this entirely tiny and so-simple/sweet Sailormoon fic. I have it saved somewhere, but what I remember most is skating and snowflakes and ice crystals glittering in my brain and making tiny rainbows.

First fics are like first anything. They're special.

When I think of fantasy? Spells and magic and mythical creatures... well, magical creatures. There's a very fine line between magical and mythical in my mind -- some creatures are both....

*Laughs* mine was funny as can be, haha. Not all first things are so special; just most. *Laughs*

ZOMG GUESS WHAT?! I totally forgot all about Metro Con this year....!!!!! It's right in my city, and not too far away. Half an hour if there's traffic -- or 45 minutes if we hit every red light too, lol. We went last year, on the last day (sunday -- we being me, Cris, and her cousin/my friend Isa), and just basically went as first-time con-goer's. This year, however, we plan to try to go all three days (pre-registration, it's only $48 per person for all three days; and me, cris, isa, and my mom are going... maybe a friend from school too, but she doesn't know yet), AND cosplay.

My mom and I are masters' of arts and crafts (...okay, she's a master. I'm a skilled apprentice, but still an apprentice, lol), and she ADORES costumes... and the excuse to make something...and the excuse to see me dress up, haha. For that matter, I adore costumes as well. XD LOVE 'em. I was disappointed last year that I didn't have time to make one. *Sighs*
But mom's given me the green light to check out costumes (maybe even one per day!!! she says it depends on prices and which char's and all), wigs (for some characters; for some, I'd just die and style my hair), etc. She's gonna give me more spending money then I already have (which is about $100...), too -- abut $50 or so, maybe. Depends on finances and budgeting and all that oh-so-fun stuff.

The coolest part, though? Metro con is only THREE DAYS after my birthday!! It starts on the 18th of July, and my birthday is the 15th... so I, in a stroke of genius (I have 'em often -- can't be good for my heart, all these strokes...hmm.....), said suddenly, "Mom! It's only three days after my 16th birthday! Instead of doing anything for my birthday, people can just give me money, and I'll go to metro-con as a cosplayer--maybe for all three days!! It isn't too expensive; I think it's around fifty bucks for all three days... And I can be a birthday girl there! YEAH, that'd be SO COOL!" She enthusiastically (and laughingly...) agreed.

THIS IS GONNA EB THE BEST 16TH BIRTHDAY EVER!!!!!! CHYAH! (16 isn't a big deal to me; 15 and 17 are, but hey. At least I can say I had one SWEET 16! :D)

I have a small list of characters, but I'm going to choose wisely. About half of them are guys; and half are females. As of yet, the list is (and I'm gonna add char's, so it's a wip):
Hyuuga Hinata
Hyuuga Neji
Aburame Shino
Tifa Lockhart

On paine and yuna I'm considering going as one of their dresspheres, and not their original outfits -- both in ffx-2, that is, lol. Tifa is definitely Advent children, definitely NOT ff7, lol. All naruto char's are gonna be shippuden (time skip; they'd be around my age -- 15/16).

But I have some other char's in mind. Any ideas on who you think is cool? :D Heehee.

I forgot all about metro con and my plans to go this year, haha... thank god my bio teacher's head of the anime club and had it posted on his board. There's a good chance I'll see him, his wife, and/or some of the kids from school at it, lol.

I AM SO DANG EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(...*Cough* please excuse the abuse of !'s. Thank you.)

See? Similar, but still a slightly different thing. I'm not sure why it works this way in my head but it does. I think it has something to do with supernatural things being based off of things we know - Vampires and bats, witches and that crazy old lady down the street, demons and the strange shadows you see in the corner of your eye... It's was easier to explain things like that than with science a few hundred years ago. They're like the things that are almost real in our heads, and thus usually scary.

But things like faeries, unicorns, satyrs.. Well, there's not much mistaking them, right? So they're pure imagination and faith: fantasy. And in our heads, it's easier to not be scared, because some tiny part of us knows that we're never going to have to deal with anything even remotely like it. I'm sure, however, that if a unicorn walked up to most people, they'd freak out. (Especially since unicorns only like virgins, and those are in precious short supply these days.)

OMG ENJOY! I wish I could go too, but you know. Life. *sigh* Well, life and money. My vote is Reno. There's simply not enough Reno love in the world. :D And as much fun as the girls would be... They're still not Reno. In fact, the ones I recognize (FF fame) are mostly.. um, really sweet and not really all that psychotic? Well, I guess you could stretch and go as Rikku, but I'm not sure her outfit is legal in some places. XD I read somewhere that the older she gets, the less she wears, and it's SO TRUE.

Dude, can you imagine how advanced we'd be if we hadn't had the dark ages? 800 years of banishing science....imagine what we'd be like if we'd HAD those 800 years still ENCOURAGING science. *Can't quite imagine it* Holy...Lol.

*Snickers* "I'm sure, however, that if a unicorn walked up to most people, they'd freak out. (Especially since unicorns only like virgins, and those are in precious short supply these days.)"
That line is <3. Pure love. XD It's hilarious, lol.

There's also a con in Orlando I found, called Megacon. Website is megaconvention.com, I think. I might go there next year; who knows. It depends on my fam and friends; I have these two friends who always go with me to cons. Orlando's only a couple hours of driving, so we could drive. I'd hate to do it, but, hey -- it's a con; 'nuff said. Megacon is held in feb/march, and metrocon is held in july, as previously stated.

Dude, I would LOVE it if you could go to metro con. *Wish wish wish!* Meeting you would be, like, EPIC AWESOME. I have plans to try and go to this one con next year -- Otakon, if at all possible...*Crosses fingers* -- to meet a friend. We've been pen pals for almost three years, I believe. I think 2008 is our third year of knowing each other. I have the date we met down on paper somewhere or other. *Shrugs* But we've been pen pals for a long time, are the best friends, she's almost directly one year younger then me (both our birthdays are on july 15th; she was born around 10 am, I was born at 8:15 precisely)... She and I are best friends, like yah! Like it's so totally fun.

Man, but I'd be so psyched to meet you. That'd be just so completely awesome..*Sighs wistfully*

I'm thinkin' maybe Reno. But I know I'm definitely going as one of Paine's dressphere's. Look her up; she ain't soft. XD Lol. Riku has a couple cool outfits -- her black mage outfit is fun, but I love all their black mage outfits, lol --, and if I did Yuna I'd probably do her Psychic one.it's a simple one, and I could put up with teasing and the color scheme. The outfit's pretty cool on it's own.

But I dunno. I've also added as possibilities Roxas(normal or orgy xiii), Halloween Sora, Vincent, and a couple others. Halloween town sora and some kind of Roxas would be fun too. Most of my choices are male, lol. XD

I would never dream of going in Rikku's normal outfit. You wouldn't catch me DEAD in that thing. Although, yes, you could wear it to the con. I saw people with skimpier things then even that. XD They did it very artistically and tastefully, however, so it looked cool instead of whorrible. (like it? Whoribble? Lol. Began a typo, ended up a great description. XD)

You're assuming we could have just jumped from A to C. As much as I detest the whole period that is the Dark Ages, it was a necessary stepping stone for progress. It just progressed very. Very. Slowly. *sigh* And even if it was a period of scientific enlightenment, then we'd be worse of environmentally speaking. So either way, we're probably lucky.

Have you ever read anything from the 500 Kingdoms by Mercedes Lackey? You must have. I LOVE the way she portrays unicorns. It's just so much awesome it can't be contained. There's this whole "oh gods not again" feel that just makes me giggle.

XD My planned-con this year is WinCon in Boston (SPN fandom), but that's mostly because I know people who will be there and I literally haven't seen them in YEARS. I'm almost clueless otherwise. But I'm feverishly not-working on my Axel costume (funds - sigh), but I have PLANS. :D And if I do it right (that is, expensive), then I might even be able to use it as a raincoat. (sketches designs again) I think I've even figured out how to handle the seam-designs and side-panels (piping) and omgflail I wanna work on it SO badly. ;-; Damn my money. But someone who is oh-so-nice even pointed me at a place that does CHEST BINDERS so I don't have to worry about Axel having breasts or the binding of my breasts making odd lumps and doing things to the lines of the costume and it is WIN and I'm buying one next month. (HAPPY)

XD BAD PUN. But yes, it is... one of those you either pull off or you don't. I think most people would be in the "don't" category, just because it's a hard one to do. Although if you're sewing it yourself, cheap in terms of fabric. There can't be more than a few square meters there, really.

No, I haven't yet read too many of her books. T_T Perhaps only a dozen; maybe a few less. Not faaaaair, but it's been epic painful trying to find her books, for some reason...*Puzzled*
Myself, I adore the way she portrays unicorns in The Obsidian Trilogy. They're so good at sarcasm, they are. XD

Then WORK, woman; WORK! Do NOT resist the call of the cosplay! NEVER RESIST! NEVER! Beat down that sensible side of you preaching about funds; FORGET IT, GO FORTH, AND COSPLAY, YOUNG ONE! YOSH! *Punches air and runs around like Lee*

XD Lol.

*Laughs* Aye, I'm doing a guy for one of my cosplays (I'd planned on two guys, but I decided to only do one this year, instead...) -- I decided I'm definitely doing psychic Yuna (you can look her up on google images; just type in psychic yuna) and Aburame Shino (his costume should be...interesting....to make. I have to make it look right without everything look all wrong. All baggy clothes are harder then people think, y'know!). However, I'm stuck on the last one.... Trainer Yuna, or Tenten? *sighs* I'm not going to decide until I've got the others done, however. That way, I can better understand time and funding. *nodnodnod* I found some good corsets for Yuna.

I found a website that ROCKS, and has great tips and help forums -- cosplay.com. I'm a member (username is TriSangre), and i found this GREAT thread on various ways to bind your chest: http://www.cosplay.com/showthread.php?t=15709. Of course, there are other ways (just type into google "bind chest"). cosplay.com is awesome, lol. I have no problem whatsoever with binding my chest -- luckily I don't have a big one. (If I did, I'd save up and get plastic surgery to get either very small breasts, or just get rid of 'em all together. :P I can't sand the stupid things.)
You could do a female Axel. Trust me, people DON'T mind. It gives the D'Nial people a reason to put two guys together. *Snickers* or, I suppose, two girls, lol.

Yeah....I LOVE Halloween Sora. Unfortunately, it won't be happening this year...*Grumbles* But I think I'll do him next year. ^^

*Nods* Yeah, bad puns are fun, though, ya gotta admit. XD (That reminds me -- earlier today I was chatting with Edgar (edgar Allen Poe, dontcha know), and he said, "Yeah, I like to call gays Interior Decorators." I stared at him and started to chuckle, then I was actually holding my stomach and cracking up. They had NEVER seen me laugh like this before, so I got some odd looks. I finally managed to control myself and said, grinning oddly, "Why do you call them that?" He gave me an odd look and replied, "Because gay people always are stereotyped as watching bright house networks -- interior design stuff. And all that....So, yeah. Why'd you laugh so hard?" I paused, and then said, "Edgar, my mind is much dirtier then even most people in this school. I just happen to be uninterested in those things, and therefore, it doesn't matter. But...think of how two men have sex. And then think of the term 'interior decorators'. Now get that mind into the gutter and let it swim for a bit." Oh, his expression once he figured it out. XD )

*Nods* Yeah, I suppose. We'll be sewing quite a bit, so it's a good thing my mom's so great at it. Myself, like I said, I'm still an apprentice. She's better at actually sewing everything together. I'm better at stuff that...doesn't really include sewing. *Sighs* So not fair, but, y'know. I didn't usually have all that much patience as a kid.

Dude, if you read nothing else of hers, you must read at least one of those books. I suspect your problem may lie in the fact that she's super-insanely-popular because she's also super-insanely-good. (Not to say she's perfect—no writer is perfect; occasionally I'll hit a bit of writing that makes me oO, but less often than I do with most writers, and I'm psychotically picky about what I read.) I highly recommend The Godmother. :D

(wibble) Damn my sense of responsibility! DAMN IT I SAY! (beseeches the skies; this may look vaguely like milking a giant cow)

I'm in that unhappy area where I'm too big to bind easily but not big enough to be pleased by this. "Average" is probably the right word. *sigh* And my problem with the Axel-as-a-girl thing is that in pre-attempts sewn out of old t-shirts, breasts seem to be making the front paneling lay oddly. It's easier to just remove the breasts from the equation than to try and figure out why.

:D Thank you for the website. (bookmarks!)

Awwww. Halloween Sora rocks in so many ways. (cuddles him) I think it's the dichotomy of Sora landing in the Land of the Scary and still managing only to look menacingly adorable. Plus fangs. Fangs are sexy—even on Sora. And this is bringing me back around to the question of what Riku would be in Halloween Town. Gods, where did I find that one pic... (digs around on Google) I may have to post it here when I get home—I have a horrible habit of saving fanart. (sweatdrop)

... damnit, why did I just give myself a new plot bunny? (beats it with a broom) BACK FOUL THING.

XD Ohgods, I can't believe he didn't get that right away. (cracks up) His expression must have been priceless!

Sewing actually isn't that hard when you have a machine and someone who knows how to use it. It's kind of cheating in a way, because you don't need any more knowledge of the process than "put this with this and then attach them here". Sewing machines, btw, are awesome. Sewing by hand is good if you're going to be sitting somewhere and unable to read for a while, since it keeps your hands and brain busy. But for real work, it kind of sucks.

Of course no write rise perfect. *Laughs* But she is very good, yes. Ahhh, the Godmother I read. It made me laugh. THe dude had to be beaten many times to get the idea through his thick skull that he wasn't so high-and-mighty. *Snickers*

Here's an idea: If you can't get time, material, funds, or otherwise are unable to make the Axel costume....simply get the hair and makeup, and wear something that it looks like Axel would wear. Go as an AU Axel; I guarantee not many will care. XD In fact, some people think it's even cooler. They stepped out of a fanfiction and right into the con! :D

Riku would somehow manage to still get the whole "I'm-totally-insecure-but-still-completely-sexy" look. Even if he had flesh rotting off his bones. XD
That reminds me; another Mummy movie is coming out! This one has JET LI in it!! *Cheers*

I know, I can't believe he didn't either! He was laughing so hard he was crying, and he couldn't make a single sound! THe rest of us were cracking up too. XD I can't BELIEVE he didn't get that!

Here's a little brain twist for you: If a gay couple managed to win Presidency, would the Partner be the First Lady, or the First Man? Gender is completely and utterly irrelevant. As are feminists.

*Shakes head* Nay, with many people, they still can't use a sewing machine to save their life. I myself prefer sewing by hand, but that's simply out of habit. I like to sew in designs, and most of them happen by accident.

AND ABBY CAN GO TO METROCON WITH ME!! The 19th; Saturday. BUT SHE CAN GO! AND SHE'S GONNA COSPLAY!!! :D She wants to go as Kairi, although she's undecided about which one.

YES. (snicker) I loved the way she dealt with him! And even then you can still see the jerk shining through; it's just coming out in protective ways rather than destructive.

I love her unicorns. XD I will never stop saying that. If I do get around to making those blood-sucking-yet-somehow-good unicorns, I may borrow a page from her book on the stupid lapdog likeness. That would be priceless. A giant horse-thing with fangs and eyes of flame going "may I put my head in your lap? please?" with big puppy eyes.

And the worst part is, I have a fic I could fit them into. (headdesk) But I shan't, because it's not next on the list to be written damnit!

.. ohgods, AU Axel. And there's so many AUs to do. ("Anne" from My Girlfriend Who Lives in Canada, Axel from Surgeon General's Warning... Hell, even A'ksel from Reborn! How awesome would it be to go as a dragonrider Axel?! [has never given up a secret childhood ambition to steal and hatch an egg]) That's a amazingly fantabulous idea! YAY! :D And the hair is easy; mine's a little long, but it goes cherry red and spike fairly simply. I may be washing hair products out for a week, but it's do-able.

Gods, I may have to write a note on the back of my hand about this thing. The Halloween Riku pic I've got saved somewhere is... guh. He's a zombie thing (I think), but gods a corpse has never looked so hot. He's got the (cravats are sexy, I don't care how out-dated they are) and claws and... ohboy. (fans herself).

Well, if Hillary wins, we'll be in the same position, really. A male in the spouse role. (rolls her eyes) Of course, the whole "first lady" bit is just a hanging piece of history. Quaint, but out-dated. I suppose they'll change it to "first spouse" or just remove the title altogether. Though "first gentleman" has a nice ring. And maybe it would work as a hint.

XD lol I prefer a machine, since my goal is usually a good quality piece in a short amount of time. I can sew solid seams, but they take longer by hand.

YAY!!! As long as she doesn't try and take away any of Riku's Soras that happen to be around. Though if she can make the costume in time, I think that Kairi in KHI is an under-utilized look. (As though you asked for my two cents.) People like the pink dress way too much.

You actually have a fic you could use them in?!
I WANT TO READ IT!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, I've ALWAYS wanted to steal and hatch a dragon egg....or some other awesome magical creature....*Whimpers mournfully* Not faaaaair, I want onnne......
I know those first two fics, but I dunno the third, so thanks for giving me one to read!!! Dude, A'ksel....LOVE the rendition. *Grins* Where is this story, though? Couldn't find it in "the pit", as you've so very nicely put it....
*Grins* I toldja, AU characters are pure LOVE. And I know it's an amazingly fantabulous idea. *Smirks/smug* It as mine, wasn't it? Naturally, naturally.

Just kidding. But yeah, just make sure defining features are there, and people will go absolutely crazy that you've cosplayed as one of their fave characters from a fanfiction. God knows I'd love it. XD Just post plenty of pics!!!

Aye, I know it'd be the same; sorry, I thought I'd included that. oops. ^^; Yes, hopefully they WILL take a hint. ><

I usually give the big pieces to my mom, do details myself, and then we both fix the details onto the outfit. THat way we work double-time...

Nope. She's more into being gay then being bi. XD (She is bi, but when it comes to female/male love, she prefers female 80% of the time. or 90%. Depends on what she wants right then.) Trust me, she'll leave riku's sora's be. *grins* And if she doesn't, I'll make sure she does. *Grins*

I like your two cents. I'm now two cents richer. And I need all the sense I can get. XD

True, it is under-utilized. She says she'll just have to decide, although right now she's leaning towards the pink outfit, simply because she looks more like her then KH1 Kairi... Eh.

I know I can pull off Orochimaru, mainly because I once did makeup that made me look like Orochimaru and Gaara's love-baby. It was purely crack, and I kept cracking up too. XD I have a picture of when most of the makeup had faded, but was still noticeable, and my hair was really out-of-control (not in a good way, but I definitely looked insane...), and I have this weird smirk on my face. XD It's weeeeeiiiiird, lol. Looked better when the makeup hadn't faded so well, but, eh. And I can do Orochimaru's eye makeup perfectly; I did it for a play, but made it bigger because it was on stage. And it looks damn good on me, too. I know because not only am I in love with it, but I had everyone who saw me with it exclaim about how good it looked on me. (...Come to think of it, that could be taken as an insult....er..Hmmmm....)

I even had some people come up to tell me I looked down-right sexy in my costume/makeup. And I was like, 'I dunno if I should just grin and bear it, or if I should act as embarrassed as I'm feeling.' XD Basically I was thinking, "Eh? me?", lol.

But who cares?! I LOVE the makeup. XD

My contacts for Oro (Oreo! :D) will have to be cat eyes; an exact replica of his eyes are $179....*Winces* Ouchies. I'll have to settle for golden/yellow cat eyes...*Sighs*

Ack! Still in progress! STILL IN PROGRESS. (hides) And it's insanely far down on the to-do list because it's new and a lot of other fics have precedence!

XD I was weened on Anne McCaffrey. While other kids were reading the Baby Sister's Club, I was reading Moreta's Ride. (And never again, damn it. That book made me cry!) So being a dragonrider was by far at the top of What I Want To Be When I Grow Up. It was less likely than jockey, but that didn't stop me!

It's a perpetually incomplete, or it'd be added to the rec list I've put together. Honestly, a Pern-KH Crossover is on my "list of things I will write one day", but I haven't even started it yet. Well, not in a "started-started" sense. More like a "jot down ideas for scenes and lines randomly as they come to me" sense. It's like... so insanely fun of an idea. And unlike the Star Wars-KH idea, I know Pern well enough to do it. (I own the Dragon Lover's Guide!)

Where are my notes on that? WHERE? (digs!) Oh, they'd better be misfiled on my laptop at home, or I'll have to re-write. And if I re-write the notes, there's no telling where it will end.

Ooouchie. Custom contacts have to be pricy, I suppose, but still... When it threatens to cost more than the rest of the outfit together, there are problems.

.....I was reading Baby Sitter's Club, Nancy Drew, Hardy Boys, Boxcar Children, and Tamora Pierce. That's what I was reading. ^^;

Perpetually incomplete, hmm?

Hey, why should it stop you, just because it wasn't likely? I always wanted to be a super-cool Mage who called upon Elementals and magical creatures to aid my Awesome Journeys!
Or, just wanting to fly.

Still a hope I nurse. Y-Y

Uhm...what's Pern? ^^;

Yeah, they do. I found a solution, at least -- my eye doctor has given her permission to grab two sample contacts in my prescription (one blue, one green) for my Yuna cosplay, and we found some cat contacts that'll be ok to use. Not totally accurate, but I'd rather be an evil dude with yellow cat eyes then an evil dude with chocolate brown eyes. Oh yeah. Chocolate brown. Epitome of evil, there! Uh-huh, TOTALLY.

lol Nah, I jumped straight to the big books. My 5th grade teacher actually accused me of cheating when I tried to submit a report on Dracula. She didn't think I'd read it.

Yeah, I haven't seen an update since this was posted. Sadness. It's an awesome idea, but that's the way the fanfic goes. This is exactly why I've stopped posting in parts.

XD I would SO take that, with a helping of Magical Horse Companion Who is Snarky.

GO READ. OMFG. Forget ANYTHING I ever said about reading Mercedes Lackey. MCCAFFREY FIRST AND ALWAYS. Even if the newer books by her son aren't quite up to snuff.

Lucky - I have a large pupil that makes for awesome night vision and horrible headaches with most contacts. You MUST take pictures.

....I love it when teachers do that. "You can't've read that! You're a child!" "....So?" XD Lol; in 5th grade we had a reading contest that ran the whole year. You put down however many pages you read (recreational) each day, as well as a summary and how long it took to read.

Second place was 20k pages.

First place (me) was 52,326 pages. *Falls over laughing*

I actually read more then that, but didn't have the room on the paper to put more then one book. *Shrugs* So I just picked one book, but I probably read double or double and a half that. Easily. I was 10 years old......And yet was active more then I read. Sheesh. Where did I find the time? O_o;

Magical Companion Who is Snack--er--SNARKY! Yes, Snarky, not snacky. Well, I dunno. Could be snacky, too. x3

*Cowers under CAP's* I'm sorry! I'm sorry! Je regrette; desole, desole!! Only things I've ever read by McCaffery is the Acorna series! (Not even all by her, but funny nonetheless.)

Not up to snuff? Well, what we read as a child always sounds better. ^^;

*Shakes head* My eyes are highly sensitive to light; the best option would probably be a pair of glasses that automatically tints. (I LOVE whoever invented it!) I tried those -- and lost them surfing in the pacific ocean in Costa Rica. Oooooops.... So no more super expensive glasses for me. ><;

I have great night vision and horrible headaches anyway. Doesn't matter if I wear contacts, glasses, or go without. I discussed my options with my eye doctor (whom we place a great deal of trust; she's practically a family friend), and it's been all around agreed (by fam and her AND a very enthusiastic me) that the best choice would be to get laser eye surgery when I'm old enough.

It can't come soon enough!

Don't worry; I'll be taking LOTS and LOTS of pictures, and lots of video, too! :D

My teacher didn't even say "you can't". She said "you didn't" and basically called me a liar! I had a really, really bad relationship with her anyways, but... yeah. I got pissed and then I got upset and then I told my parents. XD I was the reason she got shipped off to New Jersey. One of my favorite achievements.

LOL When did you find the time?! That's insane!

Could be snacky, could very well be... But that wouldn't work well for a Companion Animal. Maybe a Companion Carrot?

The Pern series is really what launched her. It's like... the start of the dragon-as-not-evil trend in fantasy. (Even though it's technically sci fi—long story). Acorna has nothing on it.

Yeah, big oops there. x.X Eye surgery... The idea makes me shudder. But if you get headaches I'm sure it beats the pain all to hell.

*Grimaces* I went to the same school preschool through 6th grade. In 5th and 6th I tried two different schools, but always ended up transferring back. ^^; It was kinda funny -- in 5th grade I was gone all but the last two months, and missed a LOT of fun times. D: And in 6th, I was gone only the first two months. XD That's definitely an achievement to be proud of, lol.

I have no idea. I told you, I used to do so much even I'm surprised. And yet, I still found time to be bored. XD It's quite funny, really. I just read really fast; that probably helps. *Shrugs* But by the time I got to bed I usually would spend about 30 minutes to 2 hours trying to get to sleep.... I had to have very specific bedtime rituals completed. otherwise I couldn't sleep. ^^; I was active all day, and yet didn't fall asleep the minute my head hit the pillow every night.
It got to the point my mom just sent me off to my room, turned off the overhead light (left lamp on), turned on my stereo(quietly), and told me to be quiet while I played. And I always was. They never heard me. (I did all vocalization mentally, fwee.)

Companion Carrot? Mmmm, sounds yummy. Can I have on?

Ay, I've heard a lot about it. I just haven't actually found them. Elsewise I'd sit down in the bookstore and just read them....

I don't want to have it either. *Grimaces* Seriously, i'm supposed to just sit there while they make adjustments to my eye? I mean, yes, I realize your eyes can't actually feel pain (it's true, the eyes themselves can't feel pain -- there are no nerves for it), but seriously -- just lay down and stay awake and keep my eyes open while they perform laser surgery? Ah yes. So excited.
But it'll be worth it.

I kind of wish my parents had done that. o.o; I've always had a hard time getting to sleep unless I unwind. (wistful) Maybe my childhood wouldn't have been spent in a half-doze if they'd just let me read until I conked out.

Companion Carrots™ are available at your local grocers. (Beware the Companion Carrot Baby Edition™; they're vicious little buggers.)

Ask for Dragonsdawn at the desk—they'll recognize it. It's not technically the first book in the series (it actually starts with Dragonflight), but it's the first in the timeline. It means you don't get sideswiped by the SciFi factor in later books. (♥s Sorka and Sean so hard)

I did not realize that. (resists the very adult urge to poke her eyeball) Yeah, that's going to be hard. Bad enough when it's the dentist—at least you can't see the instruments coming at you there, no?

*Laughs* Well, my mom learned fast. And my dad didn't care, so long as I slept, lol. I was always wide awake. XD Unless I got in a car.... I got so bored in cars that I learned to make myself sleep when in them. Eventually I get drowsy just from stepping into a car, lol.

Aw. I wanted a Baby Edition; they sound so cute. *Pouts*

Very adult urge indeed. *Snickers*
Ugh, no dentists. I never had a problem with them until 7th grade (12 yrs).... because A: the dentist had the worst teeth and breath and manners imaginable, and B: he made me swallow something that made me throw up within the hour quite a bit. I couldn't go back to school, lol. I just kept throwing up. *Grimaces*

Yeah..... laser surgery will put my on the edge, but I'll deal with it if I can fix my vision. It'll be worth the fear and anxiety, and I'm an expert at repressing it.
